A favorite tournament among regional golfers, the Foundation's Annual Golf Classic offers sponsors and participants a fabulous day on the links. The morning kicks off with registration, a tournament gift, pre-tournament continental breakfast and putting contest. Players will enjoy 18 holes of golf on one of the region’s premiere courses along with lunch on the course, complimentary beer and beverages and fun interactive contests. A reception follows the day, with awards for the contest winners and top three teams. This year's tournament will help fund the Medical Center's plans to construct and equip the new Julie and Bill Dotson Center for Breast Health. Visit www.crmcfoundation.org/golf for more details.

As part of their Americanism outreach initiative, Southern Maryland American Legion Post 221, from Avenue, MD will present an overview of our nation’s flag history. Mike Barbour, Americanism Programs Chairman, will explain the evolution of the flag from its inception during the early years in the 13 colonies to the present day 50 United States version. The group features sharing of group members'experiences, support of one another and tools offered by recovery support facilitators. A potluck meal is served, and anyone can bring something or simply bring themselves. This group is free. Participants should use Beacon of Hope entrance— look for lighthouse sign over the door.
