Again this year, the organization will hold a live and silent auction/dinner scheduled for November 18, 2016 at the Jaycees Center, 3090 Crain Highway, Waldorf, MD. The event will have over 200 items, generating funds to support programs for individuals with disabilities that are not funded by the state. This year’s auction theme is “Maryland my Maryland” and the list of fabulous items continues to grow daily. To date, items include antiques, event tickets, sports memorabilia, trips and much more. Advance tickets are $40 and $50 at the door. Doors to the event will open at 5 p.m.
Past projects supported by the auction include; fitness training provided by local gyms, adaptive equipment expanding the Movement and Wellness program, as well as handicapped accessible vehicles used at the agency’s residential homes. Proceeds from the event have also helped provide life changing experiences for individuals utilizing programs such as Kristin, who utilizes our Supported Employment program services, who recently secured a paid position at the Hampton Inn, where she works regularly. This is just one of our many success stories.
