As threats become increasingly sophisticated, persistent and diverse, Navy personnel, processes and systems must also increase vigilance and capability to mitigate unauthorized access, malicious attacks and denial of service. The Patuxent Partnership (TPP) will host a Risk Management Framework (RMF) briefing, explaining how RMF meets the cybersecurity challenges confronting Navy information and information systems.
Dr. Darryl Allen, Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Cybersecurity/Information Assurance will discuss NAVAIR's transition from the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) to RMF; NAVAIR's designation of a Functional Authorizing Official; Functional Security Control Assessor and the implications these have on our aviation systems and weapons platforms.
The program takes place on Aug. 16 at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center in California, Maryland, with check-in beginning at 7:30 a.m.
There is no cost for this program. Advance registration is requested. To register, please visit paxpartnership.org.
