The St. Clement’s Island Museum will have its Children’s Day event on Saturday, August 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be free balloons, face painting, games, crafts, activities, snow cones and goody bags. The first 200 kids will receive a reusable water bottle.

Community heroes from the Seventh District Fire Department, Seventh District Rescue Squad and Med-Star Hospital will offer activities promoting health and safety. Hometown Karaoke & DJ Services will have everyone dancing to kid-friendly tunes.

Community Partners from Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, Chalk Point, Aquaculture Center, and the Piney Point Aqua Culture Center will offer fun educational activities to help educate children about protecting the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Cindy Freeland, who has authored many children’s books will give a story book presentation about the animals that live in and near the Chesapeake Bay.

The Seventh District Optimist Club will provide a .50 cent meal menu and a free bike raffle for children 12 and younger.
