Join the Department of Planning and Growth Management and The Ottery Group for a community meeting on Wednesday, April 13 to learn about the Pomonkey Mixed-Use Historic District.
The Ottery Group will present recommendations for preservation tools and programs, economic incentives, and community development strategies for Pomonkey. This meeting will be held at the Metropolitan United Methodist Church (3385 Metropolitan Church Road) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Ottery Group, a consultant working with the Department of Planning and Growth Management, has completed the study of the Pomonkey Mixed-Use Historic District located near Bryans Road, Maryland. Established in the late 19th century, the Pomonkey Mixed-Use Historic District has functioned as a commercial, educational, social, and religious center in the community for over 100 years.
The Ottery Group’s research included interviews with several community members, fieldwork, and archival searches which resulted in a Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties historic district submission.
