Come enjoy a wonderful performance, slide show and unique partnership between COSMIC and the Spaceflight America Museum on Sunday, March 6, beginning at 4:00 PM. The COSMIC Symphony will be held in the atrium of Calvert High School just off Dares Beach road in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The Spaceflight America museum is located in the Arthur Storer planetarium next to the school’s main entrance.

In collaboration with the Spaceflight America Museum, COSMIC Symphony will present an afternoon of space-themed music and astronomy. The symphony will be performing Mozzart’s symphony number 41 “Jupiter” and various selections from Holt’s “The Planets” all set to a captivating slide show comprised of many unique and wonderful images from the Spaceflight America’s photograph archive. “I think it is quite appropriate for an orchestra named COSMIC!” says Sigmund Gorski, co-founder of the museum. Winners of COSMIC’s 12th annual Young Artist Competition will perform with the orchestra.

Tickets to the symphony are available at the door or online at www.cosmicsymphony.org. Tickets to visit the museum are $3.00 per person and can be purchased with your concert ticket or at the museum on the day of the performance.

ABOUT THE MUSEUM: The Museum exists to: Promote, preserve and restore artifacts and technology that chronicle the history of manned and unmanned spaceflight. We educate the public, and inspire the next generation of dreamers. The Spaceflight America Museum captures and presents an evolving snapshot of our exploration of space as seen through the world of the scientist, engineer, and space traveler.

The core of the museum’s collection is composed of a high altitude suit, the walk-through International Space Station (ISS) exhibit and a hands-on Kidz Zone. Other artifacts include tools and equipment used in space and items tested or used by astronauts on the Space Shuttle, Apollo and ISS. Visitors will also have an opportunity to be an astronaut and operate one of our unique simulations, flying the XV-50 Rocket Plane, or even landing on the moon!

The Spaceflight America Museum is part of Volanz Aerospace Inc., a non-profit (IRS 501c3) Maryland corporation formed in 1998 to provide space science and space-related high technology education and research opportunities.
