We have a wide variety of vintage and antique furniture, home décor, clothing, jewelry, skin care and much more. With new items coming in all the time, you’re sure to find something great to take home! Located across the street from the old courthouse, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Calling All Vendors. The LVM will host several Flea Markets from May through October on the beautiful green outside the shop /across from the courthouse. We’ve had such an interest from our customers that we’ve started putting together our list of potential vendors/artisans. Whether you’re an old pro or a new flea market vendor, it’s a fun way to spend a weekend. We’re currently working on dates for the flea markets and will provide that information as soon as we have it. Calvert County Public Schools will host a Digital Learning Expo for district instructional staff on Saturday, March 5, 2016. The event will be held at Calvert High School from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The Expo will feature twenty-four presentations facilitated by Calvert County Public Schools teachers and other experts in the field of digital learning. Topics will include, among others, the effective use of mobile devices in the classroom, webpage design, digital storytelling, online collaboration and instructional uses of Office 365.

Dr. Daniel D. Curry, Superintendent, said, "The Digital Learning Expo is professional development by teachers and for teachers. It's a venue for our staff to showcase the high level of instruction they provide. It's also a local opportunity for our teachers to engage in professional development provided by their peers, who are expert practitioners in the classroom."

Exhibitors and vendors in field of digital learning will be present throughout the event. They include: Calvert Library, CDI Computers, Digital Citizenship, DreamBox, Edmodo, Envision Technology, Evolution Training Athletics, McGraw-Hill, National Geographic, Nystron Education, PAX Space Makerspace, Performance Matters and Tech4Learning.

Dr. Thomas Holtz, Jr. will present “Realm of the Tyrant King: Last Days of the Dinosaurs in the American West” on Saturday, March 5th at 2:30 p.m. at the Calvert Marine Museum. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Dr. Thomas R. Holtz, Jr. is a Senior Lecturer in vertebrate paleontology in the Department of Geology at the University of Maryland. He is the Faculty Director of the College Park Scholars-Science & Global Change Program (www.geol.umd.edu/sgc), a residential honors program for freshmen and sophomores interested in global change science.

Holtz is a dinosaur paleontologist specializing in the origin, evolution, adaptations, and paleobiology of carnivorous dinosaurs (especially Tyrannosaurus and its kin). Recent works include co-editing and writing Indiana University’s The Complete Dinosaur, Second Edition and several chapters in University of California Press’ The Dinosauria, Second Edition. In addition to his technical publications, Dr. Holtz has written several books for popular audiences (including the award-winning Dinosaurs: The Most Up-To-Date Encyclopedia for Dinosaur Lovers of All Ages (Random House), and has been a consultant on numerous TV documentaries (including BBC/Discovery Channel’s Walking with Dinosaurs, Dinosaur Revolution, Planet Dinosaur, and the History Channel’s Jurassic Fight Club) and museum exhibits.

A Research Associate with the Department of Paleobiology at the National Museum of Natural History, Dr. Holtz also serves on the Scientific Council of the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore. He received his bachelors in Earth & Planetary Sciences at Johns Hopkins in 1987, and his Ph.D. in Geology & Geophysics at Yale University in 1992.
