Ta-Ta Trot Fun Run/ Walk 5k
Date: Saturday , April 2nd 2016 (Rain o...r Shine)
Time: 8:30am
Location: Three Notch Trail starting at John V. Baggett Park at Laurel Grove 26929 Three Notch Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659
Fee: $35 :: 12years and under $15

I will be participating in my 4th AVON 39 walk for breast cancer the last weekend in April, in which I will be walking 39.3 miles in 2 days to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Due to my love of running, I have decided to host a race this year, “The Ta-Ta Trot: Fun Run/ Walk 5k”, to help raise money. The money you donate will be distributed to local programs that include John Hopkins University Breast Center, Food & Friends, and Capital Breast Care Center, to name a few. 100% of your entry fee for the race will go to the AVON 39 walk for breast cancer. Please feel free to donate more than the registration fee, if you so desire.

How to Register: Donate to the following website:

http://info.avonfoundation.org/site/TR/Walk/WashingtonDC?px=6917677&pg=personal&fr_id=2481

And then send an email with your t-shirt size and the name you used when donating on the Avon website:
Sarah.potter22@gmail.com
A confirmation email will be sent back with a waiver to be signed and brought the day of the race. **Any registrations after March 15th will not be guaranteed a shirt.

Since this is a laid back race to simply raise funds for the AVON walk, there will be no official timing system, but participants will be given race bibs and are encouraged to track their own time and be their own “competition”. While it won’t be timed, the first male and female to cross the finish line will receive a prize.

At the end of the race, there will be a gift card basket raffle to further help raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research.

Strollers and well-behaved dogs are welcome!

Any questions, feel free to contact me: sarah.potter22@gmail.com

The Charles County Department of Public Works would like to remind citizens that the first household hazardous waste collection for this year will be held on Saturday, April 2. The household hazardous waste collection site is located in the parking lot of the Department of Public Works building, located at 10430 Audie Lane, off of Radio Station Road in La Plata. Collection hours are 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Items accepted free of charge include: pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, gasoline, oil-based paint, cleaning supplies, pool chemicals, fluorescent lights, mercury thermometers, and other poisons found in the home.
