The Sanners Lake Sportsman's Club is hosting Maryland's first ever NRA America's Rifle Challenge presented by Daniel Defense on May 15th. The AR Challenge offers opportunities to learn new, or further develop, your skills as a shooter. You'll learn to shoot from different positions, at varying distances, from behind barricades, using your non-dominant hand and how to efficiently change your magazine. The AR Challenge consist of training events on the AR platform as well as competition events designed to test out your newly acquired skills. The AR Challenge is for AR owners of all skill levels. Cromwells Firearms, Panda Tactical and The Tackle Box are sponsoring prizes and with registration you will be entered into a raffle. Lunch from Mission BBQ is included in the price of registration. Non-shooters who attend the event will be able to take advantage of fishing opportunities with gear and bait provided by The Tackle Box. The Maurice J. McDonough High School music department is coordinating a March for Music 5k walk/run on Sunday, May 15 at the Indian Head Rail Trail. The event features a kids fun run at 8:30 a.m. followed by the start of the 5k at 9:30 a.m.

Registration is $20 and family discounts are available. The starting point on the Rail Trail is the Mattingly Avenue – Park at Village Green area. Participants receive a free t-shirt and refreshments will be available.
