Kathleen Bowie of Indian Head and Luke Krikstan of Nanjemoy were married on Saturday, September 20, 1997 in St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Hilltop by Father Thomas Gude and Father Matthew Thompson. The bride is the daughter of Annette Higgins and the late Richard Higgins. The groom is the son of Matthew and Dorothy Krikstan.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her son Brandon Bowie. Andrea Krikstan was the bride's maid-of-honor and Noah Krikstan was the groom's best-man.

A reception for family and friends was held at the Mount Aventine Manor House on Chapman's Landing Road in Indian Head.

Kathi is employed with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) located in Alexandria, Virginia. Luke is employed with American Pest Management working on the campus at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.
