The Patuxent Riverkeeper works to improve, protect and preserve the river and its watershed...to help make sure that our vital water resources and the surrounding ecosystem are not squandered and do not degrade from neglect, abuse and public indifference. The Patuxent River covers 930 square miles of watershed and runs for 110 miles through nearly the entire length of the State of Maryland. Volunteers are needed for various programs including water quality monitoring, tree planting, and clean ups. Activities are appropriate for all ages and both groups or individuals.
