* On March 23, 2007, Rose Beitzell will be teaching a workshop in Conté Drawing. Conté is a traditional medium used for hundreds of years to create extraordinary works of art. It is more stable and much easier to work with than pastel since it is essentially a pure pigment mixed with a relatively hard binder. Conté is ideally suited for loose sketching and for intricate drawing. It is worked just like charcoal and deals with monochromatic work.

* In response to several requests for more Saturday classes, Sandra Germann has stepped forth to teach a class in faux finish techniques on Saturday, March 24, 2007. The focus for this particular class will be on “ragging.” Sandra, the owner of INTERIOR ARTSCAPES, specializing in murals and faux finishes for residential and commercial clients, lives in Charles County. You can see some of her mural work on the walls of Three Brothers Italian Restaurant near Office Depot in Waldorf.
