Time’s running out to submit your design for the 11th annual Maryland Black Bear Conservation Stamp! Entries must be original, previously unreleased artwork, and will be accepted through the close of business March 23, 2007. Proceeds from the sale of the Black Bear stamp are used to compensate farmers for agricultural damage caused by black bears. March 23 is also the deadline for entries for the 33rd annual Maryland Migratory Game Bird Stamp Design Contest. This year’s event will take place on March 31 in conjunction with the Patuxent Wildlife Art Show, at the Patuxent National Wildlife Visitor Center in Laurel.
