Joyce Dodson Talley, 86, of Waldorf, MD, died April 9, 2010, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.

Mrs. Talley was the owner and operator of Talley Jewelry with her husband, Joseph E. Talley, Sr., for many years. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Club. She was an award winning basket weaver. She volunteered at Calvary United Methodist Church Food Bank and at Physician's Memorial Hospital (Civista).

Born April 25, 1923, in Halifax County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Percy G. Dodson and the late Hattie Lovejoy Strickland Dodson.

Predeceased by her parents; brothers, Noel Dodson, Nat Dodson, Humphrey Dodson and Hubert Dodson; sisters, Doris Harris, Malissie Keesee, Emcie Harris, Sadie Stevens, Lenzy Allison, Hattie Gilbert and Albertine Mudd.

Survived by her husband, Joseph E. Talley, Sr.; sons, Eugene Talley and his wife Susanne; Larry Talley and his wife Janice; Douglas Talley and his wife Linda; Ronnie Talley and his wife Dawn; brother, Lacy Dodson of VA; sister, Cornelia Baker of VA. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a wake service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 11AM, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Waldorf, MD.

Rev. Robert D. Carter and Rev. James Chance will officiate.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Talley, David Talley, Chris Talley, Kevin Talley, Brent Talley, Ryan Talley and Jeff Talley.

Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 3235 Leonardtown Road, Waldorf, MD 20602.
