James (Jimmie) Benjamin Clarke, 93, of Park Hall, MD passed away on September 20, 2014 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on September 24, 1920, he was the son of the late Mary Olive Cullison and Clarence Clarke.

Jimmie was the loving husband of Bertha Cecelia Thompson Clarke, whom he married in St. Martins Baltimore, MD on September 7, 1946.

Jimmie is survived by his children; Dennis Clarke of Park Hall, MD, Cecelia Warn of Ridge, MD Mary Johnson of Lusby, MD, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Siblings; Donald Clarke, Calvin Clarke and Glenwood Clarke. Jimmie graduated from St. Michaels Catholic School in 1939, and joined the United State Army serving 2 years, including World War II. He was a mechanic for Public Works for 19 years. Jimmie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, and American Legion.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Holy Face Catholic Church with Father Joe Silio officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers; K.C. Bailey, Steve Boggs, Dean A. Johnson, Robert Allen Corso, Josh Hubbard, and Dexter Ford. Honorary Pallbearers; Lane Price and Evan Wood.
