Brenda Lee Bowling, 62, of Newburg, MD passed away peacefully on August 30, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by family. Born February 24, 1952 in Hughesville, MD she was the daughter of the late William Lee Gibbons and Lucille Mae Willett Gibbons.

Brenda worked as a Customer Service Representative for Verizon until she retired in 2003. She enjoyed playing slot machines at the casinos, slow dances with Eddie, Facebook, gardening, and watching her favorite TV shows: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and cooking shows. She also enjoyed the Redskins, painting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a great eye for decorating her home, and she attended many auctions looking for just the right antiques.

Predeceased by her parents and sister Mary Ellen Edelen, Brenda is survived by her husband, Charles E. "Eddie" Bowling; children, Charles E."Chris" Bowling, Jr. (Stacey), Amy S. Bowling (Bryan Cook) and Lisa Bowling Barrett (Justin); grandchildren, Cole and Luke Barrett, Tanner and Graham Bowling and on the way, Elizabeth Mae. She is also survived by her Aunt Helen Wolfe, brother-in-law, Skippy Edelen; and many other brother- and sister-in-laws, as well as several nieces and nephews. She had special friends, her Facebook Family, and travel companions Betty Lou and Billy Moore.

The family will receive friends for Brenda's Life Celebration on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD, 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at Brinsfield-Echols on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at La Plata United Methodist Church Cemetery, Route 6, Dentsville, MD 20677. Pallbearers will be Justin Barrett, Bryan Cook, Brian Gough, William Bowling, Daniel Bowling, Ryan Bowling, David Bowling and Steve Garner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dr. Higdon Elementary School, 12872 Rock Point Rd., Newburg, MD 20664. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home.
