Patrick Michael Moran, of La Plata, MD died on July 31, 2014 at his home. Friends and family knew him as "Michael." He was born on October 27, 1945 in Washington, DC to the late Reginald C. and Julia McAuliffe Moran. He was 68 years old. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brothers, Albert, Charles, and Sean Moran.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Florence Lucy Morabito Moran; his son, Michael S. Moran and wife Robin; his daughter, Kristina L. Greenlee and husband Frank; his brothers, Robert and Joseph Moran; his sisters, Maureen Robert and Margie Hickerson; and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Brooke Greenlee.

Michael was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was well known for his generosity and caring for others. He truly was a selfless person. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for Safeway for almost 30 years.

He loved the Redskins and ALL things Irish. He enjoyed playing the lottery and was a big believer in lucky numbers. He was an avid fan of music and owned a large collection of albums and CD's. He would spend time making mix tapes of his favorite songs. He also enjoyed working and coordinating events at the clubhouse in his community, Hawthorne Greene.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a Wake Service & American Legion Services at 7pm at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will take place on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10am at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
