Harold Eugene Wood of Mechanicsville, MD died on July 18, 2014 at his residence. He was 70 years old.

Harold worked for the State Highway Administration for 44 years until he retired in 2010.

He was a well-dedicated and loving person. He was always working outside and doing all sorts of things. He loved watching the Redskins game to the end. Harold was well known and loved by his family and friends. There was nothing Harold wouldn't do to help others. We are all going to miss him dearly.

He is the son of the late Francis Wood and the late Mary C. Woodland Wood. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Mae Wood, Annie B. Thomas, and Lucy Wood and his brother, Bernard Wood.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lorraine Wood; his sons, Howard Leon Wood, Eddie Wood, John Wood, and Michael Wood; and his daughters, Eunice Marie Proctor and her husband George, Barbara Jean Wood, Jessica Marie Johnson, and Janice Marie Proctor. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Friends received on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 10AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph Way, Pomfret, MD 20675. Interment in the church cemetery.
