Dorothy Hull Brown of Waldorf, MD died on June 5, 2014 at her residence. She was born August 23, 1915 to the late William Beggs Hull and the late Mary Agnes Walsh Hull in Westminster, MD and was a devout catholic.

Dorothy graduated from Western MD College with a BA in Home Economics and Biology in 1937. She worked as a dietician at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore and later introduced Home Economics at Margaret Brent H. S. in St. Mary's Co. from 1937 to 1939 where she met and married Rex A. Brown, son of Dr. Clayton A. Brown. She substituted in Home Economics at La Plata H.S. for eight years and taught Home Ec for one year at Lackey H.S. She worked as a librarian for the Charles Co. Public Library for 15 years. During this time she started the first public library in Waldorf and retired in 1978.

She was a member of the Waldorf Homemakers, Antique Arts Association, and Catholic Daughters Court St. Peters. She traveled extensively, read voraciously, and was an avid bridge player. Her amazing ability to enjoy wherever she was, and whomever she was with, brought joy to all with whom she interacted.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rex and daughter Judith Hull Brown. She is survived by her daughters, Susan B. Spencer, Mary Robyn Paradis, and Sally A. Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Gathering on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 1:30PM until the Memorial Wake Service at 3PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private.
