Mr. Richard C. Crosariol, 96, of Indian Head passed away Sunday, May 25 at Charles County Hospice House.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Grace Wood Crosariol, three children; Tena Selby, Paul Crosariol and Richard Crosariol, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crosariol was the last surviving Marine on the USS Maryland from Pearl Harbor. He retired in 1962 as a Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps after 23 years of service and moved to Charles County. At the age of 94 the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps presented him with the non-commissioned officer's sword (the oldest weapon still in military service today) and honored him for his service at Pearl Harbor during the bombing that led to World War II.

A private service and interment will be held at MD Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at a later date.
