Richard J. Cozzens, Sr., 74, of White Plains, MD died on April 30, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 10, 1940 in Washington, DC to the late Richard and Mary Cozzens. He is also predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Cozzens Gray and his grandson Charles Wayne Coberley.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Patricia Cozzens, sons Richard Cozzens, Jr. (Joy), John Cozzens(Sharon), and James Cozzens (Karen), daughter Peggy Coberly (Bill), sister Linda Malik (Hugh), 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Richard worked as a Lithographer and was a lifetime member of the LPGCIU Union Local 285.

He loved spending time with his family and friends and being at his beach house on the bay. He also enjoyed bluegrass music, playing his guitar and his Dobro.

The family will receive friends on Monday May 5, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a funeral service at 7 PM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, MD. Interment will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 11 AM at the Trinity Memorial Gardens Waldorf, MD.

A celebration of Richards's life will be held after the service on Tuesday at 4045 Adelina Road, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
