Walter Claude Lynch, Jr., 85, of Hughesville, MD, formerly of Waldorf, MD passed away December 8, 2013 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD. Born February 8, 1928 in Hughesville, MD, he was the son of Walter Claude Lynch, Sr. and Bessie Mary Brackney Lynch.

After an honorable discharge from the Army, Walter went to work as a supervisor at the meat department at Andrews Air Force Base. He retired as supervisor of the meat department at the commissary.

From 1978 to 1995 he was founder and pastor of the Waldorf Community Church and he served as pastor until 1995. He loved people and made friends with everyone he met through the years. Walter was a devoted family man who loved his country.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, brother, Thomas Lynch, sisters, Mary "Molly" Lynch and Catherine Roland.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth May Lynch; daughter, Deborah Lee Lynch, brothers, Samuel Lynch, Robert Lynch and sister, Louise Lynham.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Kevin Cullins will officiate. Interment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
