Martha Jane Cooksey Bennett of Cobb Island, MD died on November 4, 2013 at University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was 72 years old.

Martha was a purchaser with the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, MD for 30 years and a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Wayside, MD. She loved painting, gardening, playing bridge, and sewing. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She is the daughter of the late Robert Lee Cooksey and the late Edwardina Budd Cooksey. She is also predeceased by her husband James A. Bennett Jr.; a daughter, Allison Jane Bennett; and a brother, Robert Budd Cooksey.

She is survived by one son, James A. Bennett III and wife Debbie; one brother, John D. Cooksey and companion Goldie; and four grandchildren, Brian, Jimmy, Megan, and Allie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends received on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 2-3PM with Funeral Service at 3PM at Christ Episcopal Church ~ Wayside, 13050 Rock Point Road, Newburg, MD 20664. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Arrangements by Raymond Funeral Service, La Plata, MD.
