Harold Brooke Bright, 91, of Harwood, MD, formerly of Edgewater, MD, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. He was born March 14, 1922 to the late William Brook Bright and the late Lena Koontz Bright in Washington, D.C.

Harold was a Master Electrician with the Prince Georges' County Board of Education before he retired. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He kept his boat on the West River at the Holiday Hill Marina. Harold was an Auxiliary Coast Guard Power Squadron member and licensed boat captain. He previously did charters. He was also a member of The American Legion, Post 226 in Mayo, MD.

Harold was predeceased by his parents, William Brook Bright and Lena Koontz Bright.

Harold is survived by his former wife, Martha Waite Bright, son, Dennis A. Bright, daughters, Lindsey A. Ruddell (William), Kayce L. Shibley (Kim), sister, Shirley Ann Bright, grandchildren, Robert Lee Ruddell, September Love Ruddell, Wendy Lee Hart, Hannah Love Shibley, Kim A. Shibley, Jr. Jessica K. Shibley, Abigail G. Shibley, Emma G. Shibley, great-grandchildren, Peyton Kaia, Faithlyn Hart, Bailey Hart, and friend, Shirley Bassford.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Inurnment will be at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 at a later date.
