Clara Tippett Sollars of La Plata, MD died on May 27, 2013 at Charles County Hospice House in Waldorf, MD. She was 86 years old.

Daughter of the late Robert Laverne Tippett and the late Clara Lavinia Owen Tippett. Also predeceased by two brothers, Owen and Xavier Tippett and two late sisters, Mildred Kastroba and Theresa Harrington.

Beloved wife of 57 years of Walter T. "Walt" Sollars, Jr.; mother of Gregory W. Sollars; sister of Joseph and Richard Tippett, Mary Ann Charney and Beatrice Ruck.

Clara was born and raised in Indian Head, MD and graduated from Lackey High School. In her earlier years, she was a volunteer at the bookstore at Archbishop Neale School in La Plata, MD and a telephone operator with C&P Telephone Co. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and ballroom dancing was her passion.

Friends received on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 5-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment to follow at church cemetery.
