William Fred Alvin "J.R." Johnson, Jr. of La Plata, MD died on May 14, 2013 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. He was 51 years old.

Mr. Johnson was a heavy equipment mechanic with MV Transportation for 30 years and was certified ASE for Transit Buses and had been a self-employed logger for 20 years. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church Wayside. He loved hunting, fishing, Ford Mustangs, and his tractors. He most enjoyed being with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed giving everyone a hard time in fun.

Son of the late William F. Johnson, Sr. and the late Beatrice Evans Johnson. He was also preceded by one late son, William Kenneth Johnson.

Survived by his wife of 32 years, Cecelia Johnson; two daughters, Millisa A. Blake of Nanjemoy, MD and Crystal M. Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD; two sisters, Sylvia Crouse and husband Walter of Nanjemoy, MD and Betty Yake of Welcome, MD; and six grandchildren, Frankie, Devin, Breanna, Jenna, Sara, and Kylee.

Visitation on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
