Charles William Alexander, 93, of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, Maryland, passed away at Civista Medical Center on December 20, 2012. Born in Spain on September 30, 1919, Charles was the son of the late Dickerson Phillip Alexander and Maria (Rufus) Alexander Blaker.

Formerly of Washington, DC, Charles entered into active military service at Ft. Myer, VA on October 6, 1942. He became a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corp and separated from the military on December 5, 1945. Charles became a Truss Designer with Barber and Ross Lumber Company and a Commercial Building Truss Inspector for Fort McHenry Lumber Company. His hobbies included a passion for reading, painting, drawing, and history.

In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Margaret Alexander; one of his grandchildren, James F. Brickey; and one of his brothers, Arthur Alexander.

Charles is survived by his four children, Judy L. Price, Larry W. Alexander, Charles F. Alexander, and Tracy K. Gonzalez; four of his grandchildren, Cindy L. Ernst, Joshua A. Gonzalez, Nathan C. Gonzalez, and Caleb A. Gonzalez; his six great-grandchildren, Ezra, Lily, Max, Zoey, Tinzley and Abigail; and one of his brothers, Guy Alexander.

There will be a Committal Service at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, at a later date.
