Mr. Conner was a Landfill Superintendent for 29 years with the Charles County Landfill. He attended Browsburg High School and enjoyed farming. He moved to Charles County, MD in 1963 where he resided until his death. He retired as Superintendent of the Charles County Landfill in 1998. He had a great love for his family, friends, country music, and traveling filled his days.

He is the son of the late Oscar George Conner and the late Mary Magnolia Fix Conner. Also predeceased by two brothers, Francis "Buck" Conner and Kenny Cecil Conner.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mona Claytor Conner; four children, Katheryne L. (Jim) West, Sherman O. (fiancée, Sandy Meyer) Conner, Michael T. (Susan) Conner, and M. David Conner; two brothers, Frank "Sam" (Thema) Conner of Sandy, UT and Roy Conner of Richmond, VA; four sisters, Winifred "Winnie" (Bill) Donald, Phyllis "Cook" (Charles) Dudley, Shirley Frasier, and Emily (Jeff) Baska; seven grandchildren, Tai Conner, Casey Conner, Stacey Conner, Abbey Tereba, Carlie Conner, Kyle West, Jacob West, and Nick Conner; mother-in-law, Bonnie Claytor; numerous nieces and nephews; and close family friends, Sonny and Shirley Taylor.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646) and a memorial celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Clergy will be Rev. Chester Willett.
