William A. Turner, age 69, of La Plata, MD died suddenly on September 12, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

Over the course of his life Bill enjoyed time spent drag racing, collecting Civil War memorabilia, and driving classic hot rod Corvettes. A member of Hawthorne Country Club for many years Bill loved rounds of golf and playing cards with friends and spending time with family.

Son of the late Oliver W. Turner and the late Anna May Smith Turner.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 51 years A. Diane Turner; one son James Russell "Jimmy" (Tracy Lynn) Turner of La Plata, MD; three grandchildren; Dustin James Turner, Dylan James Turner, and Danin Jordan Turner.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 5-8PM with Funeral Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646). Clergy: Rev. Rob Pilkerton. Interment: Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 11AM at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
