Sandra L. Sherman of Charlotte Hall, MD, died on Saturday, September 11, 2012 at her home. She was 69 years old. Born on February 21, 1943 in Riverdale, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Goldie Boteler and the late Orlen Ray Lilly.

Sandy was a school bus driver for over 44 years with the Compton Bus Service. She was a life member with the Newburg Volunteer Fire and EMS Department where she served as Secretary and received numerous departmental and county awards, including the Henry L. Burke Squadsman of the Year. Sandy was also a member of the Dentsville Volunteer EMS and Auxiliary, Inc. and a past member of the Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department and EMS Ladies Auxiliary. She played on the Charles County Women's Softball League and was active with her husband with the Horseshoe Leagues in Charles and St. Mary's Counties.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Burton Ernest Sherman; her grandson Jeremy Calico.

She is survived by her sons Billy Sherman and his wife Donna Sherman, Tony Sherman and his girlfriend Tina Felitsky, Bruce E. Sherman and his wife Barbara Sherman, James R. Sherman and his girlfriend Lisa Callison, Charles Sylvester Binger Sr. and Charles Sylvester Binger Jr.; grandchildren Bryan Sherman and his wife Missy Sherman, Tiffany Waldon and her husband Eric, Joanna Winters and her husband Kevin, Jessica Sherman, Lauren Sherman, Alex Callison, Chris Sherman, Joelle Sherman and Jimmy Jo Sherman; great grandchildren Angel Sherman, Taequon Sherman, Tamiyah Sherman, Jasmine Winters and Jaelynn Winters; her half-sister Donna; close friends Joe, Mary and Jonathan Kurtz, Joe and Mary Hertzler; also many other relatives and friends.

Visitation on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at Raymond Funeral Services, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD.
Funeral Service 10AM Monday, September 17, 2012 at the La Plata United Methodist Church La Plata, MD with the Reverend Bruce Jones. Interment to follow at the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
