Earl A. Sage, 71, of Mechanicsville, MD died August 15, 2012 at Hospice House of St. Mary's in Callaway, MD. Mr. Sage was born June 6, 1941, in Blue Springs, WV. He was the son of the late Glen A. Sage and Lou E. (Heavener) Sage of Monterville, WV.

Mr. Sage retired from C&P Telephone Company where he worked as a Central Office Technician. He enjoyed boating, camping and loved to water ski in younger years. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed fishing the rivers throughout his hometown of Monterville, Bemis, and Elkins, WV. He served as former President of BEMANCO, Golden Beach. He was a member of the Mechanicsville Moose Lodge 495 and the "River Rats" (you know who you are) of Golden Beach, MD.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn S. (Strawder) Sage, Mechanicsville, MD and his beloved dog, Lily; son, Michael Todd Sage, Mechanicsville, MD; son, Darren Scott Sage (Lori), Bryantown, MD; daughter, Joni Lynn Smith (Tony), King George, VA; and Stephen E. Fringo, Mechanicsville, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Tyler G. Sage (April), Mechanicsville, MD; Garrett S. Sage, Bryantown, MD; Ryan Myers, Bryantown, MD; Amber Sage Smith, King George, VA; Scottie Renee` Sage, Bryantown, MD, and great-grandson, Braylen Earl Sage, Mechanicsville, MD. In addition, he is survived by one brother, Ronald L. Sage (Nancy), Leesburg, VA; niece Kimberly Hoke (Kevin), Winchester, VA; great-niece Kaelin S. Soto, Winchester, VA; great-nephew Carlos R. Soto, Winchester, VA and several aunts and cousins.

A memorial gathering and service will be held from 2 - 4 PM and from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Inurnment will be at a later date.
