William David Chism, 77 of Mechanicsville, MD passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on July 2, 2012. He was the son of the late Louis Chism and late Annie Darton Chism. He was born in Many, Louisiana on December 10, 1934.

He is predeceased by his sisters: Reba Long; Evelyn Chism, Laverne Aultman and Margie Quibodeaux.

William is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Loretta Chism of Mechanicsville, MD; his sons: William David Chism, Jr. of Thurmont, MD and Chris J. Chism of Charlotte Hall, MD; his daughter, Nikki Luckel Hall of Charlotte Hall, MD; brothers: Larry Chism of New Hebron, MS and Raymond Chism of Deridder, LA; sisters: Alice Moses of Deridder, LA, Wanda Lemarie of Abbeville, LA; grandchildren: William D. Chism, III; Phillip J. Chism, and Taylor Lynn Luckel; great-grandchild, William D. Chism, IV,

He was Retired Navy First Class Petty Officer. He later went to work for Chaney Enterprise from 1994 to 2005. William was a member of the Fleet Reserve; American Legion; and Western Maryland Sportsmen Club.

Family and friends will be received for a gathering on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 2-4 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Memorial Life Celebration will be held at 4:00 PM, a private Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
