James Allen "Crackers" Bowling of Newburg, MD died on Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. He was 71 years old. Born March 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Wallace Bowling and the late Martha Leona Davis Bowling.

Crackers Bowling was a southpaw pitcher for the Glasva Baseball Team who also enjoyed golfing with his fellow golfers at Wicomico Shores. A retired farmer, Crackers enjoyed being with his grandchildren and his dog Duke.

In addition to his parents, Crackers Bowling was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Marie Goldey and his sister Hannah Hancock.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Rice Bowling; his son, James A. Bowling Jr. and his wife Constance; his daughters Theresa Hall, Donna Goldey and her husband Howard T. "Sonny", Jo Ann Ucekay and her husband John; his sisters Betty Ann Davis and Margaret Bowling; his brothers Edward, Calvin, Charles and Howard "Butch" Bowling; his grandchildren Megan Hall, Jacob and Jeremy Ucekay, Hunter and Holden Goldey, Cole, Rose, Emory, James A. III and Andrew P. Bowling, Danny, Nick and Ashleigh Hill.

Visitation on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM with Prayers at 7PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 11555 St. Mary's Church Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 beginning at 10AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church 11555 St. Mary's Church Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 with Father Keith Woods officiating. Interment immediately following in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Jacob Ucekay, Cole Bowling, Danny Hill, Joe Saunders, Butch Bowling, Chester Bowling. Honorary Pallbearers are Edward Bowling, Calvin Bowling, Charles Bowling, Thomas H. Rice, Johnny Rice, Jimmy Wood, James Cornette, and Donald Langley.
