Dana Marie Hungerford, 56, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC on April 2, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Esten Whitney Hungerford and Ms. Alma Jean (Wolfe) Hungerford of Bryans Road, MD. Dana was born in Washington DC on March 4, 1956.

She was a Catholic who attended and graduated from Archbishop Neal High School in La Plata, MD and then went to the Charles County Community College. Dana started working at the age of 18 and then worked for 36 years at Stump Neck and N.O.S. in Indian Head, MD. She loved corvettes and spending all her spare time with her grandchildren.

Aside from her father, Dana is predeceased by her grandmother, Julia Dent Hungerford.

Dana is survived by her mother, Alma Jean Hungerford; her son, Cody Alan Potter of Charlotte Hall, MD; her daughter Brittany Leigh Powell (William) of Mechanicsville, MD; her brother, Whitney Hungerford of La Plata, MD; her sister, Cathy Loweth of Leesburg, VA; her two grandchildren, Avery and Parker Powell; and many other family members and friends.

Family will receive friends for a gathering on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday April 7, 2012, 2:00PM at Brinsfield-Echols. Interment will be private.
