Mrs. Turner was a retired United States Air Force Master Sgt. She enjoyed her retirement and being with her dogs "Charlie" and "Milo".

She is the daughter of the living Julian D. King and the late Jannie K. Holifield King.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her father; her husband of 14 years, Christopher D. Shady; one daughter, Kristen Theobald of Waldorf, MD; and three brothers, Jerry and Terry King of Illinois and Daniel (Monica) King of California.

Her Visitation and Service will be held in her hometown, Granite City, Illinois on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Her internment will be on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with full Air Force Honors.
