Agnes "Ruth" Cooksey, 84, of Hughesville, MD, died at her home on March 24, 2012. Born September 14, 1927, in Hughesville, she was the daughter of the late James "Reeder" Williams and Mary Agnes Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband of 59 years, William "Jesse" Cooksey.

She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Mary Ruth Snyder and her husband Bob of Hughesville, and her granddaughter, Jessica Jolliffe Montminy and her husband "JC" of Sykesville, MD.

Her childhood was spent on a farm in Hughesville and she attended St. Mary's School in Bryantown. She enjoyed being a volunteer at St. Mary's all the years that her daughter and granddaughter attended there.

During World War II, she worked at Indian Head Naval Base. After the war, she married Jesse Cooksey and they built their home together in Hughesville. They enjoyed 59 years together raising a 2 acre vegetable garden. She loved being outside in the garden and her favorite enjoyment was her flowers and keeping her yard beautiful.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking her favorite dishes for the holiday dinners.

Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8p.m. with prayers at 7:00p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD.

Burial will be private.
