Thayer John Lewis of White Plains, Maryland, died on Friday, March 16, 2012 at his residence. He was 73 years old. Born on December 1, 1938 in Hanover, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Jane Thornburn Fraser and the late Thayer George Lewis.

Mr. Lewis served in the U. S. Air Force for 30 years before retiring at the rank of Colonel. He received his Master's Degree in Engineering from the Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He belonged to the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He was of the Episcopalian faith.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Lewis; his daughters Kim Kochanski and her husband Don of Colorado Springs, CO and Alison Lewis of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren Patrick Slatter, John Kochanski, James Kochanski, Jordyn Kochanski and MacKenzie Kochanski; his sister Sally Jane Ward and her husband Bruce of Lake Hopatcong, NJ.

Service and interment will take place at a later date.
