Mr. Daugherty was an auto mechanic with Trotter Car Dealership and Myer's Texaco in Waldorf for 35 years and a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict as a Tech Sgt. Son of the late Lenard Clay Daugherty and the late Edna Wells Daugherty.

After his retirement as a mechanic, he worked on his farm in Nanjemoy and enjoyed keeping the equipment looking like new. He enjoyed going to farm shows across the country.

He is predeceased by his parents; his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Ann Gardiner Daugherty; daughter, Barbara Jean Daugherty; brother, James Daugherty; sister, Mary Katherine Blevins.

Survived by one son, Roy F. (Suzette) Daugherty, Jr of Nanjemoy, MD; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Daugherty of Rapid City, SD; five brothers, Jesse Daugherty, Ernest Daugherty, Merle (Lucille) Daugherty, Vernon (Colleen) Daugherty, and Harry Daugherty all of Iowa; two sisters, Edith (Louie) Lira, and Beverly Beer both of Iowa; also survived by one grand daughter, Rita Amy Daugherty.

Mr. Daugherty's viewing will be on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 2-5PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646.
His service will be on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel with Fr. Robert Kosty. The internment will be held after the service at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
