Barbara Jean Arnold, 79, of White Plains, MD, died February 17, 2012 at Civista Medical Center. Born July 13, 1932 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Samuel Everett Williams and Lottie Mary Pickrell.

Barbara worked for over 20 years for the Federal Government as a secretary for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

She enjoyed browsing through cookbooks looking for that special recipe and her favorite TV show was the Grand Ole Opry. Drama Club performances by her grandchildren at McDonough High School were a special love.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents; husband, James Everett Arnold; sisters, Betty Purdy and Shirley McCall.

She is survived by her daughter, Shawnie Hart and husband, Michael; siblings, Nina Wilkerson and Donald L. Shivers; 2 grandchildren; Lexi and Donovan, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for Barbara's Life Celebration on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00p.m. with prayers at 7:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Trinity Episcopal Church, 9560 Trinity Church Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 (Newport). The Rev. Nancy James will officiate.
Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 2:00p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Maurice J. McDonough High School Drama Club, 7165 Marshall Corner Rd., Pomfret, MD 20675.
