Harry Charles Sharar of Waldorf, MD died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Harwood, MD. He was 88 years old. Mr. Sharar was a retired Staff Sgt. with the United States Air Force for 21 years.

After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a property manager for NIH US Govt. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the DAV, American Legion and the VFW.

He loved painting, building models, eating out with the "lunch bunch," camping, fishing and the outdoors. He was a devoted father who enjoyed being with his family.

Son of the late Harry Gurnard Sharar and the late Metta Marie Huff Sharar.

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Lowe Sharar; two sons, Gary Sharar of FL and Harry J. (Susan) Sharar of Huntingtown, MD; three daughters, Susan M. Kirk of Indian Head, MD, Debra Jo (Mark) Laforest of Ocean Pines, MD and Shana Lee Sharar of Waldorf, MD; one brother, Clarence B. (Cecelia) Sharar of NC. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, January 16, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:30AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Clergy: Father Alain Colliou. Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD. Pallbearers: Gary, Joe and Ben Sharar, Charlie Brown, Mark Laforest, Stevie Kirk and Tony Adams. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Air Force Honor Guard.
