Edna Mae Brown, 83, of Mechanicsville, MD, died on November 29, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 7, 1928 in Baltimore, MD.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maime May (Buckler) Istvan.

Edna loved her family and friends and of course her dogs, Domino & Cooper. She also loved taking care of everyone whether family or not, playing poker, the slot machines, and cooking. Edna could fry anything.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William J. Barker, Sr.; her second husband, James Richley Brown; 2 of her brothers, Johnny Istvan and James Istvan; her 3 sisters, Ms Mary Teresa Mcvoy, Dorothy Istvan, and Thelma Cooksey; and her daughter-in-law, Diana Barker.

Edna is survived by her son, William J. Barker, Jr.; her 1 brother Paul Istvan; her 1 sister, Doris Hintze; her 4 grandchildren, Mike (Tina) Barker, Wayne Barker, Steve (Deborah) Barker, and Valerie Everhart; and 7 great grandchildren, Beau, Haley, Dylan, Kayla, Seth, Skilyr, and Kendall; and her step great grandchildren Justin and Vince Wood.

The family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 5:00pm-8:00pm (with Prayers at 7:00pm) at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617. Interment will follow to Charles Memorial Gardens, 26325 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
