Harriett Ligaard Watson of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Brooke Grove Nursing Facility in Sandy Spring, MD. She was 91 years old. She was born on June 30, 1920 in Denmark to the late Kresten L. Kristensen and the late Ann Marie Noorgard Kristensen.

Mrs. Watson was a Cafeteria Worker for 15 years with the Prince George's County Board of Education and a member of St. Martin's Church in Shelbyville, DE and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waldorf, MD. She came to the U.S. in 1939 from Denmark and married John H. Watson in 1942. She loved cooking, gardening, and was known for her knitting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband of 52 years, John Holt Watson.

She is survived by two sons, John H. (Brenda) Watson, Jr., of Silver Spring, MD and David (Valerie) Watson of Ellicott City, MD; one daughter, Linda (Thomas) Harrison of Waldorf, MD; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Correa, Matthew Watson, Kristen (Daniel) Bramell, Heather Watson, Kelley Watson, Ryan Watson, and Stephanie Watson; and one great-grandchild, Chloe Bramell.

Visitation on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 10AM until Funeral Service time at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 with the Rev. Connie Paulson officiating. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
