Agnes Louise (Lyon) Hoffman, 96, of Waldorf, MD, died on November 27, 2011 at Genesis Health Care, Waldorf, MD. Agnes was born on July 1, 1915 in Mechanicsville, MD. Agnes was the daughter of the late Joseph Dixon Lyon and the late Mary Agnes Anderson.

Agnes attended the Little Red School House on Thompson's Corner Road. She graduated from Margaret Brent High School. Agnes later married Joseph Hoffman and farmed farms in Gallant Green and Aquasco Farms. She was a typical Farm wife and mother who loved working for her church and family. Agnes has lived on Dr. Samuel Mudd Road since 1958. Agnes had a beagle dog, Roxy that she always loved.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Hoffman, her 2 sons, Joseph Gerald Hoffman and Thomas Calvin Hoffman, her 3 sisters, Hattie Corley, Flora Hill, and Madeline Maloy, and her 2 brothers, Claude Lyon and Howard Lyon.

Agnes is survived by her 2 sons, Raymond Louis Hoffman of Charlotte Hall, MD and Russell Hoffman of Hughesville, MD, her 2 daughters, Edna Lowe of Rockville, MD and Janice Holifield of Ellenton, Florida, and her brother, Thomas Lyon of Port Charlotte, FL. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for a Viewing on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 10:30am to 11:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30am on Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, MD. Interment will follow to St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Bryantown, MD.
