James Harry Kinsey Jr. of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. He was 77 years old. Born on February 11, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Sara Christine Kinsey and the late James H. Kinsey Sr.

Mr. Kinsey served in the U. S. Air Force for 23 years before retiring in 1976 with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He then began working at N. I. H. in Bethesda, MD, serving as material manager. He loved to play golf and was a member of several golf clubs. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, going on vacation and mainly spending time with his grandchildren. He attended the New Hope A. M. E. Church in Waldorf, MD.

In addition to his father, Mr. Kinsey was preceded in death by his daughter Chelli Ann Kinsey Minor.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Jean Avery Kinsey; son Robert Anthony Cooper; grandchildren Shantyl Cooper, Robert Cooper II and Lea Kinsey; great grandchildren Timothy Mason, Antonio Cooper, Demarcus Mason and Carter Dorsey; brother Donald Kinsey; aunt Jeannie; and host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 10AM to 11AM at the New Hope A. M. E. Church, 12310 Washington Square, Waldorf, MD 20601 with Funeral Services to begin at 11AM with the Reverend Derrick N. Brown to officiate. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
