On August 15, 1968, the world received a rare jewel. Willie James Reid, Jr. was born to Willie James Reid Sr. and Ramona Reid in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On October 30, 2011, our beloved father, brother and son was called home.

A resident of Waldorf, Maryland he was a veteran, Masters level graduate and the Deputy Assistant Program Manager of Logistics for Aircraft Landing Systems with NAVAIR. He loved to laugh and was a friend to all who came in contact with him. He gave tirelessly of himself and never hesitated to lend an ear or a hand to someone who needed him. He had a gift of bringing out the best in everyone he met. He loved to travel, to cook, to learn new things and he never backed down from a challenge. He was always the life of the party and the ultimate handyman around the house.

He was a dedicated family man and a devoted father who loved his daughter, Chantel Reid, and supported and guided her through every step in life.

He is survived by his daughter, Chantel Lea Reid, his father, Willie J. Reid, Sr. his mother, Ramona Reid, his sisters, Ramona (Winnie) Reid and Ruth Renee Riley (husband Daryl), his beloved Kristy Noble and her son Sebastian Noble. He is survived by two great aunts and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday November 4, 2011 from 12 to 2pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, PA 211 St. Mary's Ave. La Plata, Md. 20646 were a funeral services will be held at 2pm. Interment with military honors will be held on Monday November 7, 2011 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, Md.
