Samuel John Hooper 65 of Colonial Beach, Virginia formerly of Indian Head, Md. died October 27, 2011 at his home. He was born on July 6, 1946 in Massachusetts to the late Elmer F. Hooper and Ethel F. Hooper. He is also predeceased by his brother Charles M. Thomas.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Hooper, daughter Dawn M. Harris (Steve), son Samuel J. Hooper, Jr. (Andrea) grandchildren Stephanie, Makenzie, Timmy and Aidan.

Mr. Hooper was retired from the United States Army after 22 years and serving in Vietnam.

The family will receive friends on Thursday November 3, 2011 from 8am to 9am at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, Md. 20646 with a graveside service with military honors at 10am at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham, Md.
