Mrs. Taylor worked in Customer Service with Safeway Food Stores for 32 years and was a member of Local 593. She was also a life member of Brandywine Bible Church. Ellen's greatest joy was her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She was also a member of Big Creek High School Alumni where she played clarinet and was a cheerleader. Known by all as "Mommaw".

Daughter of the late Frazier T. Boyd and the late Kathryn Marie Vance Boyd.

Predeceased by her parents.

Survived by one son, David M. Sanford of Waldorf, MD, four daughters, Karen L. Downs of Alexandria, VA, Lisa J. (Kevin) Qualters of La Plata, MD, Robyn M. (Timothy) Major of La Plata, MD and Laura A. Sanford of Carolina Beach, NC. Two brothers, Robert Boyd of Staunton, VA and Frazier (Nancy) Boyd of Richmond, VA. One sister, Inez B. Magee of Richmond, VA. Nine grandchildren, Kelli, Kevin, Kristin, Colin, David, John, Madison, Edward and Lucille. One great grandchild, Morgan.

Visitation: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel. Interment: At a later date in Grundy, VA. Pallbearers: Grandchildren.
