George Eric Burns, Sr. (affectionately known as Apple Head), was born in Washington, D.C. on October 7, 1963 to Earl Burns, Sr. and Cordelia Burns. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

George attended primary public schools in Charles County, Maryland and King George County, Virginia. George was employed by several automotive and construction companies in addition to working as a cleaning technician at the Common Wealth of Virginia facilities until his illness.

George was Baptized at a young age and saved at Zion Baptist Church. He loved building race cars and was a wonderful auto mechanic. He also enjoyed gospel music, attending church, and watching his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his father Earl Burns, Sr., brothers Larry Burns and Tony Bransom.

George leaves to cherish his memory, daughters Alicia and Brittney Burns, sons George, Jr. DeAnthony and Carlos Watson and Marcus Hicks; mother Cordelia Burns, brothers, Earl Burns, Jr., Ivian Burns, Stanley Burns and sister Lillian Simms, sister-in-laws Wendy and Sandra Burns; brother-in-law Joseph Simms, great aunt Nanette Keys Carson, aunts Josephine Keys, Marguerite Jackson, Betty Hairston, Elaine Burns, Theresa Keys and Sylvia Butler; uncles John Keys, Sr., Russell Thompson, Sr., Leroy Butler, Leroy Jackson and Francis Burns, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His viewing will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011, 10am until time of Service 11am at the Zion Baptist Church, Welcome, Maryland. His wish for final disposition was Cremation.
