Mildred Louise Dyson "Punkie" age 74 of Ironsides, died October 9, 2011 at St. Thomas More Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Hyattsville. Born January 30, 1937 in Ironsides, Md. she was the daughter of the late George Conrad Dyson, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Bowie Dyson. Ms. Dyson was born and resided on the family farm her entire life. She attended Nanjemoy School and graduated from LaPlata High School in 1956.

Ms. Dyson worked as a secretary in the Charles County Public Schools at Nanjemoy and Milton Somers Schools for twenty years.

She was baptized and confirmed at Old Durham Church and attended Sunday School and participated in the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Bernard, Louis Calvert, and Charles Reginald Dyson, and sisters, Agnes Christine Hacker and Ruth Elizabeth Eason, two nephews and one niece.

She is survived by one brother, George Conrad Dyson of Ironsides, Md. and sisters, Mary Rosalie Louie of Oxon Hill, Md., Anna Belle Gardiner of Fort Washington, Md., 22 nieces and nephews, and numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces.

Mildred enjoyed doing word puzzles and spending time with her numerous cats and dogs.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11am Thursday October 13, 2011 at the Christ Church Durham Parish Ironsides, Md. with a service at 11am. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
