Helen Frances Tomlinson, of La Plata, Maryland, formerly of Waldorf, MD, died on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Plata, MD. She was 89 years old. Born on December 20, 1921 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Mary H. Malone-Wilburn and the late Ashby Malone Jr.

She worked for the Government Services Inc. and retired after several years of service as the Cafeteria manager. Mrs. Tomlinson always wanted to work in the care giver field and started doing so after her retirement. She did home care for several years in the Cobb Island and Rock Point area. She also did volunteer work for the St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Rock Point and Our Lady Help of Christians in Waldorf.

She loved to fish, and mostly loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Donald Earl Tomlinson and her son the late Donald Earl Tomlinson Jr.

She is survived by her daughters Darlene Ellen Johnson of Calabash, NC, Mary Diane Clapsaddle and her husband William of La Plata, MD and Georgia Lee McLaughlin and her husband John of Bryans Road, MD; her son Robert Earl "Butch" Tomlinson and his wife Karen of Calabash, NC; her grandchildren Marcy, Karen, Bobby, Donnie, Brenda, James and Michelle; also survived by 14 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Visitation on Thursday,September 29, 2011 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD where funeral services will be held beginning at 11AM on Friday, September 30, 2011. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Church Cemetery in Issue, MD.
